A collaboration between 3D printing company 3RD Axis and the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) in Sydney has developed a system for recycling PPE and turning it into usable FDM filament.

The process takes waste medical materials such as single-use masks and gowns, decontaminates them, and melts them into new filaments.
